Cannon Leake

Owner/ Interior Designer

Lynn has had a lifelong interest in creating comfortable and beautiful homes.  As a child rather than “play” with paper dolls she designed homes for them and in Middle School she did her career report on being an interior designer.  Although there were some detours along the way, the dream was never forgotten.

With an undergraduate degree in Art Education she taught art in high school for 10 years.

Eventually extending the artistic bent to a Masters degree in Housing and Design and working for a huge furniture store in Oklahoma City as a design consultant.  Later making a career move to a smaller Norwalk Furniture Store for a more personal experience with clients.

After moving from Edmond, OK to Wilmington in 2004 she and her husband, Sam, and their daughter, Elizabeth, opened a Norwalk franchise store in Mayfaire.  From that store designers offered in home design services and sold mostly Norwalk Furniture.

In 2014 the family started a LUXE Home Interiors store in the Waterford Village Shopping Center in Leland where they expanded the offerings to include Century Furniture and CR Laine.  The move put the store closer to the booming building expansion taking place on the left side of the Cape Fear River.  Brunswick County has been a great  location for the new store and a fabulous opportunity to offer extensive design options and  services to all the new residents moving in to Southeastern North Carolina from all over the country as well as customers who have followed LUXE from Wilmington to Leland.

Elizabeth was born into a world of design and interiors.  Opening Luxe with her family in 2004 she has seen styles and trends come and go but making beautiful rooms has remained constant.  She grew up with an affinity for Art which led to a degree in Studio Art and Psychology from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.  Combining order and chaos is her secret recipe for keeping things beautiful and packed with personality. She focuses on her client’s needs and visions to help make them a reality. When not designing, she spends her time reading and relaxing with her husband on an evening boat ride.

Julie has been a designer with LUXE Home Interiors since before it opened! She is an integral part of the business as well as a very successful designer. Her design skills and creative approach to each space have gained a reputation for her as a creative force that places her at the top of her profession. She has many loyal followers who take advantage of the "buy to a plan" suggestions that she makes for each room. She will interview a client about lifestyle, design preferences and color choices. Then together they make a plan and the client buys pieces over time. Besides having hundreds of elated customers, she has been recognized and published by local lifestyle magazines.

Julie's phenomenal success comes from her attention to her clients and her attention to detail. She is her clients partner all the way through to delivery and accessorizing. Julie creates rooms that have a WOW factor and also stay within a budget that suits the client. She likes to have punches of color that make a room special and often have a "nod" to the coastal lifestyle. Years of education and experience combine to make Julie one of the most respected designers in Southeast Carolina.
